Nepal has a low de minimis limit — personal shipments up to 5,000 NPR (~€35) are generally released without duty. VAT is 13% and duty rates range 0–80% (very high on luxury and electronics). Nepal Customs clears shipments via Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Clearance averages 5–15 days. Nepal is a popular trekking destination — shipments are most often gear or gifts for locals.
